Where We Started
Connecticut Partnership for Children, Inc. (CTPFC) was founded by Meghan Tarby Slekis in March 2009 and went on to receive its 501(c)3 in April 2010.
CTPFC was and continues to be a primarily grassroot effort, led and supported by passionate community members. Our founding program was the Valley Diaper Bank, now known as the CT Partnership for Children Diaper Bank, and was the first diaper bank in the Connecticut Valley Region. Since then, we have grown to include six full time programs, supporting qualifying families across Connecticut. We proudly serve families who need our services the most, with the majority of our families existing at 185 percent of poverty or low income status.
We are currently based in Naugatuck, Connecticut but serve any qualifying children and their families across the state. Our primary service areas include Bristol, Naugatuck, Oakville, Plymouth, Thomaston, Terryville, Torrington, Waterbury, Watertown, and Winsted.
Our Mission
Connecticut Partnership for Children, Inc. (CTPFC) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting families throughout Connecticut by working with communities in which they live. We support children in all facets of their growth and development by meeting their basic needs of food, warmth, clothing, and diapering. We are dedicated to strengthening families, individuals, and organizations that nurture and educate our children to be healthy, safe, and successful learners with actively engaged families.
